Although it is said that there are no crimes he has not committed such as drug dealing, theft and murder, he is mostly known as a serial killer. He was sentenced to long terms in India and Nepal for murder. However, Charles Sobharaj says that he has not committed this one crime so far. Charles Sobharaj, an Indian-origin with French citizenship, said this while talking to the French media Le Monde. Sobharaj, who said that he has given drugs to around 150 people and stole their passports, but says that he has never killed anyone in his life. Nicknamed Serpent in English, the story of this 78-year-old man was serialized in the BBC under the same name. He has vehemently denied allegations that he killed many tourists, mainly Western tourists, in India and Thailand in the 1970s. He said that he had committed many crimes using stolen passports and said that he would be able to prove that he was not a murderer. The 78-year-old says that he is now on a quest to get all his documents correct. Sobharaj, who said that he does not even have a free medical check-up card, says that he has not even received a social security number yet. According to French law, you can only get this number if you prove that you have lived in France for three consecutive months. He also explains how he targeted his victims while working as a jewelery salesman in South Asia. Sobharaj said that he used to sell stones like ruby, sapphire and emerald and said that he used to visit many people as part of this. This includes tourists and business people.
